Hi everyone,
We’ve just released ServiceControl 2.1.3 which focuses on tightening up the installation and upgrade experience. Most notably, upgrades within version 2.x to other versions of version 2.y will now be faster as we fixed a bug where re-indexing is always done. We’ve also made a change to prevent upgrading from a version 1 instance to a version 2 instance if there are still outstanding data migrations that must be run.
Fixed Bug
- #1288 Only delete indexes when upgrading from 1.x to 2.x
Improvement
- #1228 Prevent upgrading to version 2.x of ServiceControl from less than 1.41.3
Who’s affected
All customers upgrading to version 2.* of ServiceControl
Symptoms
When a user upgrades from 2.x to 2.y we attempt to migrate the database. As part of that upgrade, indexes will be deleted. This is an unecessary step as the indexes only need to be recreated as part of the upgrade from version 1.* to version 2.*.
Should you upgrade immediately
This update can be applied during the next maintenance window and does not need to be applied immediately. To avoid rebuilding indexes, it is recommended to upgrade directly to this version and skip previous 2.x versions.
