We get a lot of questions about Kafka. Is it good? Does it live up to the hype? And most frequently, when are we going to support Kafka in NServiceBus.
Thank you for the in depth analysis comparing Kafka and queuing systems. It would be great to update this article as Kafka is implementing KIP 932 - “Queues for Kafka”. It’s definitely going to help narrow the gap, but there are still going to be some subtle, and some not-so-subtle differences. The most obvious gap is the lack of DLQs, but I think the subtle differences will be more interesting.
