Mainstream Support for NServiceBus 8 Ends April 16, 2026

Hi everyone,

On April 16, 2026, NServiceBus version 8 and its related transports, persistences, and other libraries will reach the end of mainstream support, as per our standard support policy.

What does this mean for me?

Your endpoints and platform tools will continue to run exactly as they do today, and version 8 documentation will remain available.

After this date, we will continue to answer questions about version 8, but these responses will no longer fall under our SLA commitments. In addition, no further patches or hotfixes for version 8-related packages will be released after April 16.

Why should I consider upgrading?

Upgrading to the latest version of NServiceBus ensures you’re able to take advantage of new features, performance improvements, and support for the newest .NET versions.

For customers still running MSMQ or dependent on .NET Framework, we recognize migration can take time, and upgrading may require additional planning.

How do I upgrade?

We have comprehensive upgrade guides for migrating NServiceBus endpoints from version 7 to 8 and then from version 8 to 9, finaly from version 9 to 10. There are also guides for related libraries as well as general tips on how to upgrade your endpoints.

Do I need to upgrade all my endpoints at once?

Not at all. Endpoints built on NServiceBus 8.x and 9.x are wire-compatible, allowing you to upgrade one endpoint at a time at your own pace.

In addition to the guides, our engineers are always willing to help make sure you have a successful upgrade. Reach out to us using our regular support channels.

Do I need a new license?

If you have an active subscription, upgrades to supported versions are included.
If your subscription is not active, please reach out, and we’ll be happy to discuss renewal options.

What if I’m unable to upgrade before April 16, 2026?

If you’re unable to upgrade before the deadline and need additional time, we offer several options to support you — including a paid extended support policy for customers who need more runway.

As we announced last year with the release of NServiceBus 9, we have extended the paid Extended Support period for NServiceBus 8 by an additional three years for .NET Framework systems, bringing the total to five years of Extended Support, now available through April 16, 2031.

To take advantage of this Extended Support, you must have an active subscription with us.

What Extended Support Includes

Extended Support for NServiceBus 8 provides maintenance of the version and its packages, security and critical-stability fixes (where feasible), access to our standard support channels, and guidance for migrating away from MSMQ and the .NET Framework.

Term & Pricing

Extended Support can be purchased for up to five years beyond the mainstream support end date, with annual pricing starting at $5k and increasing in subsequent years.

A per-incident support option is also available at USD 4,000.
