How to know if you are affected
You are affected if you are using error instances of ServiceControl 5.0.0 or 5.0.1. Audit instances are unaffected.
Symptoms
When an attempt is made to start maintenance mode for an error instance, maintenance mode does not start and the following error is displayed:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (1053): The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
When to upgrade
You should upgrade immediately if you need to start maintenance mode. Otherwise, you should upgrade during your next maintenance window.
