ServiceControl 6.0.1 and 5.11.1 – Patch releases available

Hi everyone,

We’ve just released ServiceControl 6.0.1 and 5.11.1.

Fixed bugs

  • #4547 PostgreSQL - High CPU utilization due to large number of DELETE statements
  • #4550 ServiceControl - Inconsistent casing in endpoint names results in incorrect throughput count and endpointtype update errors when using Azure transport

How to know if you are affected

You are affected by #4547 if you have configured ServiceControl to use PostgreSQL transport.

You are affected by #4550 if you have configured ServiceControl to use Azure Service Bus transport and are using ServicePulse to download a usage report.

Symptoms

For #4547, the database used as messaging infrastructure is put under heavy load caused by an excessive number of unnecessary DELETE statements i.e. statements that result in 0 rows being affected.

For #4550, setting the Endpoint Type in ServicePulse Usage page for an endpoint or queue gives a false confirmation that the change was saved, but it’s then reverted back on the screen to what it was. The Maximum daily throughput count might also be incorrect.

When to upgrade

You should upgrade immediately if you are affected. Otherwise, you should upgrade during your next maintenance window.

Where to get it

You can download the new version of ServiceControl from our website or Docker Hub.
